I’ve been super into perusing vintage lamé lately, and because it’s about to be the holiday season — a season in which we collectively agree that shimmer and glimmer are required — I have pulled together some of my top finds. Now, this is, in fact, the worst week of the year to send an email. If your inbox is anything like mine, you’ve been deleting Black Friday messages for days now. Alas, my hope is that this quick & sparkly read will be a nice respite from the nonsensical volume of discount emails!
For those unfamiliar, lamé is a type of fabric woven with threads made of metallic fiber — which are then wrapped around other natural or synthetic fibers for strength and stretch. You see a lot of it from the 60s, 70s, and 80s — it’s fabulously glamorous and there’s a deep trove of it in the vintage-net.
Maybe you are still trying to decide what to wear to that upcoming holiday party, or doing some early planning for your NYE festivities. Whatever the occasion, these pieces just might inspire you to consider the dazzling perfection of vintage lamé!

Now, if all the vintage sizing stars aligned, I might just go ~ full lamé ~ to a party wearing this outfit:

Another 100% lamé ensemble that would be divine:

How about this full-on evening gown? Vintage Victor Costa, red & gold lamé, strapless — what a statement dress! ($445)
And a few fun accessories for those seeking a gateway piece into the metallic underworld:

I came across so many other amazing accessories but ran out of patience making montages, so I’ll share some links to check out. All lamé, all vintage! Great stuff to click through on your holiday travels, or while enjoying a post-festivities decompression drink.
And if anyone is already planning a shimmering fit this holiday season, do let us know what you’ll be wearing!
Onto the links:
Silver Mesh Sheath Dress ($78)
Silver Cinch Bag w Chain Strap ($36) — want!
Pink & Gold Ballet Flats ($13)
Gold Checkered Shirt Dress ($188)
Bifold handbag w/ Lucite handles ($40) — love!

Ok, that’s all for this week!
Next week I will be gearing up to do my first vintage partnered photoshoot, featuring beautiful and glamorous holiday-inspired styles from a long-time vintage curator in Maine. I’m so excited for all the looks we will be creating, and cannot wait to share it all with you in the coming weeks.
xx,
Georgia
